BioNumerics version 7.5 released

We are proud to announce the release of version 7.5 of our flagship software suite BioNumerics.

Although version 7.5 is considered a “minor” update in the sense that all our present BioNumerics Seven customers are allowed to upgrade for free, it is undoubtly a major update in terms of new functionality!

Some highlights from the impressive list of new features:

  • Whole genome Multi-Locus Sequence Typing (wgMLST): This novel technique might well be the future of molecular typing and its implementation in BioNumerics is undoubtedly the most important novelty of version 7.5. For more details on the wgMLST workflow and the integrated calculation engine, see our separate wgMLST application page.
  • A new MLVA plugin: The MLVA plugin was completely redesigned to integrate seamlessly with the Curve processing window. For more details, see the new MLVA plugin description.
  • 64-bit version available: The software now runs natively on 64-bit Windows, greatly improving speed and performance.
  • SQLite database engine: A new embedded database system for hassle-free setup of large (up to 32 TB!) file-based databases. An easy method is provided to migrate all data from existing MS Access databases to SQLite, solving any issues with the MS Access storage limit of 2 GB.
  • Improved export: Dendrograms, charts, maps, etc. can be conveniently exported to bitmap (PNG, JPG, TIFF or BMP) or vector-based (PDF, PS or SVG) graphic file formats.
