Creating a database on a network drive
I tried to create a BioNumerics (GelCompar II) database on a networked drive, but it told me that it could not create the database.
All information pertaining the BIONUMERICS database. This includes import of descriptive information about strains, accession or biological samples (commonly referred to as entries in BIONUMERICS), modifications to the database layout and setup, entry selections, user management, etc.

How can I easily organize databases and experiments from two bacterial genera so that they are easy to find and compare?
I sometimes have an experiment done many times for the same strain. How can I link all these experiments to that strain?
What is the purpose of the .DEF and .DBS files and how important are they?
In the main window of BioNumerics (GelCompar II), the names of the Key database fields are not visible.
