BioNumerics version 6.6 new features
With BioNumerics version 6.6, we are pleased to announce a second minor upgrade in the "6" series. The highlight is the implementation of de novo assembly for next generation sequencing data (see also the Press release). The Power Assembler now has become a complete toolset for preprocessing, resequencing and de novo assembly of data from next generation sequencers.
Further great enhancements to the Power Assembler include predefined project templates, offering typical workflows for Roche 454 and Illumina data with single or paired end reads. These workflows allow beginning users to start analysing their data with a low threshold. Modified or user-defined project pipelines can now be saved as analysis templates and can be shared between users.
Furthermore, a number of improvements have been made to the Import plugin, and a number of bugs reported so far in the BioNumerics main program have been resolved.
